2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
85g porridge oats
450g minced turkey
1 medium carrot, grated
1 egg, beaten
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and gently fry the onion for 5 mins until soft. Add the garlic and cook for 1 min. Add the oats and fry for a further 2 mins. Pour into a bowl and set aside to cool.
- Add the turkey, grated carrot and beaten egg to the cooled mixture and mix well with your hands. Shape into small round burgers.
- Heat the remaining olive oil in a large frying pan.
- Cook the burgers on each side until browned and cooked through (about 10 minutes).
Serve in wholemeal rolls with tomato relish. Sweet potato wedges would also go well with these.
