Mini Toddler Turkey Burgers


2 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed

85g porridge oats

450g minced turkey

1 medium carrot, grated

1 egg, beaten



  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and gently fry the onion for 5 mins until soft. Add the garlic and cook for 1 min. Add the oats and fry for a further 2 mins.  Pour into a bowl and set aside to cool.
  2. Add the turkey, grated carrot and beaten egg to the cooled mixture and mix well with your hands. Shape into small round burgers.
  3. Heat the remaining olive oil in a large frying pan.
  4. Cook the burgers on each side until browned and cooked through (about 10 minutes).

Serve in wholemeal rolls with tomato relish.  Sweet potato wedges would also go well with these.
